Strengthening International Cooperation with China
The Chinese Ethnic Nationalities Program has been developed to promote a collaborative learning process among Chinese ethnic nationality studies specialists and Chinese and American students interested in the field, in an effort to analyze emerging trends in Chinese ethnic nationality communities and regions.
Over the spring and summer of 2004, UHM-CCS signed agreements of cooperation with two of the leading universities in China for ethnic nationalities studies--the Central University for Nationalities and Yunnan University. In cooperation with these and other Chinese universities, the Chinese Ethnic Nationalities Program at the University of Hawaii has designed three international exchange projects:
Through the promotion of international cooperation with China, CCS aims to expand the field of Chinese ethnic nationalities studies in the US and provide educational opportunities to American and Chinese students and faculty alike.
