Abstract:

Tibetan medicine and western medicine are based on very different elements. There is great variance in perspective, practice, and problem solving strategies between the two. Differences can be linked to the social conditioning, cultural background, geographical factors, etc. during the genesis and progress of the two medicinal systems, both having their own natural characteristics. The present paper presents a starting point for further comparative research on these developing systems.
