Development of the Cause of Chinese Ethno-Medicine

Abstract:

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the government has adopted the policy of protecting and developing traditional medicine. Brought about by "laying equal stress on traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine" and providing basic policy guarantee for the existence and development of ethno-medicine, China has achieve a lot in way of ethno-medicine protection and development. Through careful exploration and systematic work, it is found that more than thirty among all the fifty-six ethnic groups in China have preserved and widely used their own ethno-medicine. The application of ethno-medicine is not limited to the sometimes remote areas where they live, rather, the access of their finished medicinal products into the national public medical market has pushed it far beyond. Ethno-medicine has become an important part of modern hygienic resources.

This paper addresses the 30 ethno-medicines and the state's involvement in promoting and cultivating the development of such medicines and medical practices. The author discussing policies, laws, and regulations of ethno-medicines in China.
