This paper discusses two approaches to ethnic studies in China. First, looking at the legal situation of Chinese ethnic groups, the paper outlines constitutional policies and autonomous region laws. It then delves deeper into the implementation of such laws and policies and efficacy of the legislative enforcement. For this section a case of the "Wusuli Chanty" is used to address the problems in legal practice and the road to resolution.
In the second section, the paper discusses the link between ethnic law and ethnic medicine in China. It surveys the diversity and development of ethnic medicine. Then, using a legal approach, the paper describes the legal regulations relating to ethnic medicine - the rule of "law of medical administration," Constitutional law, and autonomous region law. The legal system and specific regulations and law pertaining to ethnic medicine lack a distinct unification and feasibility. Regulations have very low effect and a narrow range when dealing with ethnic groups and ethnic situations. This paper first addresses these problems and then discusses ways to resolve legal implementation and administrative problems.
